Piako Gliding Club offers learn-to-fly trial gliding experiences from Matamata Aerodrome, in the Matamata area. Flying is for a wide age range, with visitors welcome to enjoy gliding with an experienced, qualified instructor. Flights are scheduled across Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays when weather allows, and trial flight vouchers are available for people keen to try flying. The club also supports regular flying activity all year around.
