Susan, the organizer of the Pickering Hockey Association (PHA), has shared some updates for the sports community. PHA, based in Pickering, offers a variety of hockey programs for all ages and skill levels. With a focus on fostering young talent in a fun yet competitive setting, Susan ensures a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
The 2022-2023 registration for the Ajax Pickering Minor Hockey Association is now open. Fees differ by division: $425 for the Hockey School program, $650 for U7-U18 Rep & House League, and $475 for U21 (U18-U21) House League. Representative players may face additional fees after tryouts.
To register, players need a Hockey Canada profile, must complete the Respect in Sport course, and create an account with HCR 3.0. Returning players can register online via the Hockey Canada Registration System. New players should follow instructions from the PHA office staff.
If a division is full, players can contact the PHA office to join the waitlist. Registration is confirmed only when all fees are paid. Also, at least one parent per family must complete the Parent Respect in Sport course online for their player to be assigned to a team.
Payments can be made online through the Hockey Canada Registration system via credit card, or by e-transfer. Detailed payment instructions will be provided during the registration process.
Susan notes that while PHA tries to accommodate "play with" requests, it's not always possible. The main goal is to create balanced and competitive teams. There are refund policies for injuries that prevent a player from continuing the season, which require a $100 administration fee and a doctor's note.
With a strong focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork, Susan is dedicated to ensuring that PHA provides a safe and rewarding hockey experience for all. The Pickering Hockey Association continues to be a leading hockey club in the community.
