Point Cook Flying Club (PCFC) is now known as Bacchus Marsh Aero Club (BMAC). Founded in the mid-1970s by a group of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) personnel with a passion for recreational flying, BMAC has evolved into a civilian sports club in Melbourne. While its initial membership was limited to serving and retired military personnel, BMAC now welcomes individuals from the public to join as members.
BMAC is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote affordable General Aviation and foster the sharing of aviation experiences. It is entirely run by its members, foregoing paid staff to create a close-knit community atmosphere. New members are always warmly welcomed to join the club.
One of the primary benefits of becoming a member of BMAC is the access to a diverse selection of aircraft available for private hire at attractive rates. Currently, BMAC has four aircraft online for members to book for self-hire: XLR (C-172), MAQ (C152), EAV (C-150), and EYU (C-150). Due to the volunteer-run nature of the club, members can enjoy these aircraft at cost, with a slight contribution towards the club. Additionally, BMAC also has access to other aircraft for hire in case the primary selection is unavailable.
Serving as a hub for aviation enthusiasts, BMAC serves as a platform for individuals to learn, network, and engage with like-minded individuals. The club regularly organises events, providing opportunities for members to participate in fly-ins, guest speaker workshops, and social gatherings. These events foster a sense of camaraderie and further deepen the appreciation for aviation.
Whether you are an experienced pilot or just beginning your journey in aviation, BMAC is a welcoming and supportive community that encourages individuals to pursue their love for flying. Join today to experience the excitement and thrill of being a part of the Bacchus Marsh Aero Club.
