PONDYS GYM is the handmade "Dream Gym" of Owner/Builder & Chief Instructor Alan Pond. Originally named Midland Martial Arts Ultimate Fitness Centre aka MMA UFC.
MMA UFC is a 2 story 340m2 purpose-built training centre. It features both indoor & outdoor training facilities. We have two Boxing training rings, wall bags, punching bags, speed balls etc... We also have a fully equipped strength & conditioning room, open mezzanine floor area upstairs & plenty of parking out the front.
PONDYS GYM specialises in Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kung Fu & Chi Kung classes for kids & adults.
I've been involved with the Martial Arts Industry for over 34yrs & am one of the most experienced Full Contact Martial Artists in Australia. I'm the State Rep for ISKA WA. The International Sport Kickboxing Assoc. You'll see me regularly Refereeing & Judging, or cornering Fighters in both Amateur & Professional Boxing, Kickboxing & Muay Thai bouts here in Perth WA. I also conduct training seminars for Officials at MMA UFC.
After starting Boxing & Kung Fu training at 16yrs of age, I got hooked & soon made a life-changing decision. To make Martial Arts my life & be the best I can be. I've gained invaluable life experience in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Philippines & Thailand as a Student, a Fighter, a Coach, Judge & Referee in Boxing & Martial Arts. This provided opportunities to train, coach, compete & officiate with some of the best Full Contact Fighters in the world.
