Welcome to Portsmouth Jujitsu, a martial arts school located in the heart of Portsmouth, New Zealand. With over 30 years of experience, we pride ourselves in providing a family-friendly environment for individuals of all ages and abilities. Our instructors are all DBS checked and qualified by the CMAA, ensuring a safe and professional learning experience.
At Portsmouth Jujitsu, we offer two types of classes. Our children's class, open to ages 6 to 14, takes place on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This class aims to instil discipline, confidence, and self-defence skills in our young students. The first class is free, allowing both parents and children to experience what we have to offer.
For adults, we have an evening class running on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This class is open to individuals aged 14 and up, regardless of their experience level. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced martial artist, our instructors will provide guidance and support to help you reach your goals. As with our children's class, the first adult class is also free.
Portsmouth Jujitsu specialises in traditional Japanese jujitsu, a martial art originally developed for the samurai to defend themselves if separated from their sword. Today, we still practise this art form, focusing on self-defence, character building, and boosting confidence. Our techniques are effective and designed to be carried out by students of all ages.
We are conveniently located at The Charles Dickens Centre on Lake Road in Portsmouth (PO1 4HH), providing easy access to our students. Come and visit our photo gallery to get a glimpse of our classes and see our students in action.
If you would like to get in touch with us or have any questions, please email Chris at [email protected] or call Dave on 07476396069. We are passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and look forward to welcoming you on our mats soon.
