Postnatal Movement Matters, a Personal Training club in Chorley, is excited to promote their upcoming event, Postnatal Movement for your Postnatal Body. This activity is specifically designed to support and nurture postnatal bodies as they recover from giving birth.
During the first year after birth, significant changes occur in both the body and life in general. This activity aims to gently nurture the new body while providing essential care for the baby or toddler. Participants will learn how to incorporate daily movement into their routines while taking care of their bodies.
Throughout the activity, participants will have the opportunity to align their posture and movements, promoting better sitting, standing, and overall movement throughout the day. They will also learn how their breath connects to their pelvic floor, helping them understand the importance of proper breathing techniques.
Aches and pains in the back, shoulders, and neck are common for postnatal bodies due to feeding and holding the baby. This activity focuses on relieving those discomforts while also strengthening both the body and mind. By incorporating movement into their lives, participants can contribute to a healthy pregnancy, birth, and easier postnatal recovery.
In addition to the physical aspects, relaxation is emphasised in this activity. Participants will learn techniques to achieve deep relaxation and rejuvenation, understanding that just 20 minutes of relaxation is equivalent to a night's sleep.
Postnatal Movement for your Postnatal Body offers various ways to work together, including group classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions. Group classes and workshops are held at The Garden Studio in Chorley, and participants can easily book their spots in advance through the provided links.
One participant who completed both Helen's Pregnancy and Postnatal Series shared their experience, stating how crucial Helen's guidance was in ensuring a calm and empowered approach to their first pregnancy. They praised Helen's exceptional knowledge and experience in natural movement and its importance during and after pregnancy. Implementing Helen's techniques into their daily life has led to a more conscious and mindful movement. This participant highly recommends Helen's classes, emphasising the value they gained compared to other antenatal courses or midwife assistance.
If you've recently given birth, it's recommended to get in touch with Postnatal Movement Matters to determine the best time to start the activity based on your individual birth recovery. Participants experiencing pelvic girdle pain (SPD) from pregnancy may find the whole-body approach helpful in significantly reducing or relieving the pain. The activity also addresses Diastasis Recti, offering techniques to align the body and strengthen the core.
For those with pelvic floor concerns, it's advised to consult with a doctor for a diagnosis before participating. The activity can be tailored to work alongside doctors, Women's Health Physios, and other health professionals, ensuring a safe and effective approach.
Postnatal Movement Matters understands the importance of the postnatal period for recovery, healing, and strengthening. This movement approach is not high intensity, as it prioritises the long-term effects and encourages participants to take the time to nurture and care for their new bodies. In-person classes welcome babies, and older siblings are also encouraged to join. The daytime class is suitable for babies, toddlers, and preschool children. While slings are loved, they are not required for the in-person class.
Join Postnatal Movement for your Postnatal Body and embark on a journey of nurturing, strengthening, and relaxation during your postnatal recovery.
