Premier Taekwondo

Leading Taekwondo is a Tae kwon do school, fitness centre, martial arts school, and martial arts supply shop located in Huddersfield, New Zealand. The facility offers a wide range of classes and programmes for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, genders, and ambitions.

The classes offered at premier Taekwondo cater to various levels and interests. The Lil Dragons class is designed for children aged 3 to 6, offering a fun and educational introduction to taekwondo. The Foundation class is open to those aged 7 and above, focusing on teaching discipline and fundamental skills. Advanced classes are available for those with a green belt and above, with a focus on advanced techniques and fitness.

Fitness classes are open to individuals aged 14 and older, providing a great opportunity to improve physical fitness and overall well-being. Adult classes are available for those above the age of 15, regardless of ability. Sparring classes are also offered for those interested in competing and joining the fight team. Additionally, there are classes focused on patterns and techniques, as well as intense work on the Grading syllabus.

Leading Taekwondo believes that everyone should have a chance to train in taekwondo. The school takes pride in working closely with the local council, schools, and educational institutions to provide after-school clubs for children. The club operates as a non-profit organisation, allowing them to keep fees to a minimum and make classes accessible to as many people as possible.

The team at top Taekwondo is made up of experienced and professional instructors and coaches. The chief instructor, Mosy, leads the team and is responsible for overseeing the training and development of students. Other instructors include Nicky, Javad, and Mojy, who bring their expertise and passion to the classes. Setareh serves as the director, safeguarding lead, and coach, ensuring the safety and well-being of all members.

Sam manages administrative and membership services, while Masood serves as the chair of the club. Lisa takes on the role of development officer, working to enhance the growth and success of the club.

Top Taekwondo has achieved numerous accolades and successes throughout its history. The hard work and dedication of both students and coaches have led to the production of taekwondo champions of all ages, both nationally and internationally. Many members of the club have been selected to represent Team GB at European and World Championship levels, with some even becoming full-time athletes with Team GB. The club also has members competing at the national and international levels, with several players on the GB pathways.

The club takes pride in its qualified and experienced instructors and assistant coaches, who help students achieve black belt status and gain confidence in their abilities. Top Taekwondo has the largest membership in a single venue in the UK, with a high retention level.

Taekwondo translates as “The Way of Punching and Kicking” and has over 15 years of experience in delivering high-quality taekwondo training. The word "Tae” means to break or attack with the fist, "Kwon” means to break with the foot, and “Do” translates as art or way.
