Aikido, also known as the “martial art of peace,” emphasizes non-violence and self-improvement. Developed in the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei, it teaches practitioners to harmonize their own energy (ki) with universal ki, focusing on self-defense techniques that protect without causing harm. Whether it's mastering the art of graceful throws or effective joint locks, training in Aikido fosters both physical fitness and mental tranquility.

At Pune Aikikai, classes are conducted in an environment of mutual respect and cooperation. The dojo's schedule accommodates early risers with sessions on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Visitors are always welcome to observe a class or participate in a trial session to get a firsthand feel of Aikido’s transformative power. Young members below the age of 12 are encouraged to join, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
