Matthew, the organiser at Queenborough Archers, wants to extend a warm invitation to the sports community. He’s calling all curious minds and adventurous spirits to check out a taster session at Queenborough Archers. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete novice, these sessions are perfect for giving archery a go in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Queenborough Archers is based at the Oasis Academy – West Campus in Sheerness and offers both indoor and outdoor target archery. They’ve got compound, longbow, and recurve bows, so there’s something for everyone, no matter your archery style. And don’t worry about costs – Matthew and the team work hard to keep things affordable, making sure anyone who’s interested can get involved.
One of the standout features of Queenborough Archers is their coaching crew. The club’s got a bunch of knowledgeable coaches ready to help archers of all levels. They run taster sessions, beginners' courses, mentoring, and are always happy to give free advice to help you improve. Plus, if you need assistance with bow setup or arrow making, they’ve got you covered.
The club is very much family-friendly, with a growing junior section that’s perfect for young archers to learn, compete, and have fun. They’re also experienced in supporting individuals with physical disabilities, making sure archery is an accessible sport for everyone.
Queenborough Archers is affiliated with Archery GB, which means they stick to high standards of safety and professionalism. All level 1 Archery GB coaches at the club have CRB checks and child protection certifications in place.
Shooting sessions are every Sunday from 9 am to 12 noon, giving members regular chances to practice and hone their skills. With both indoor and outdoor ranges, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself.
For more details, you can reach out to Queenborough Archers at info@queenborougharchers.com. Matthew and the team are happy to answer any questions, provide directions, or offer suggestions.
If you’re keen to try out archery, Matthew suggests holding off on buying equipment until you’ve attended a taster session. The club provides free use of equipment, so you can see what suits you best without splashing out on gear straight away.
Whether you’re new to archery or have been shooting for years, Queenborough Archers welcomes you to join their community and enjoy the excitement and challenge of archery in a supportive environment.
