About

Rainbow Rocket Climbing Centre is a dedicated rock climbing gym located in Cambridge. With a focus on providing a safe and inclusive environment, Rainbow Rocket aims to cater to climbers of all abilities, from beginners to experienced climbers.

The centre offers a variety of climbing options, including bouldering and top rope climbing. Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that does not require ropes, and instead focuses on shorter and more challenging routes. Top rope climbing, on the other hand, involves climbing with a rope that is attached to an anchor at the top of the wall.

For those who are new to climbing, Rainbow Rocket provides introductory classes and weekly resets. These classes are designed to teach the basics of climbing technique and safety, while the weekly resets ensure that climbers have a new set of challenges to tackle each week.

One of the highlights of Rainbow Rocket is the new training area, which is equipped with state-of-the-art climbing equipment and training tools. This area is designed to help climbers improve their strength, technique, and overall climbing skills.

The centre also caters to under-18 climbers, although U18 classes are temporarily on hold. Under-18s must either be supervised by a competent adult climber or be 14 years old and experienced enough to be assessed for unsupervised climbing. Rainbow Rocket provides clear guidelines and assessments to ensure the safety of under-18s and all users of the climbing centre.

To access the climbing facilities at Rainbow Rocket, experienced climbers are required to pre-register. This involves completing an adult registration form and assessing their competency as a climber. For under-18 climbers, they must be under the direct supervision of an adult who has completed the Bouldering Supervisor Assessment.

Rainbow Rocket aims to create a welcoming and supportive community for climbers in Cambridge. With a commitment to safety, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, the climbing centre provides a space for climbers of all levels to challenge themselves, build strength, and have fun.
