RDA Peninsula Centre, located in Moorooduc, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to developing abilities and enriching lives through specialised programmes and relationships with horses. The organisation has been given a wonderful opportunity to provide an all-weather programme for riders, thanks to a partnership with the Uncommon Folk Foundation based in Main Ridge.
The Uncommon Folk Foundation, comprised of a group of farmers dedicated to healing the world and promoting natural food production, has generously offered RDA Peninsula the use of their undercover arena and paddocks for the horses to live. This collaboration allows RDA Peninsula to create an oasis of health and joy in the hills of Main Ridge.
The horses and tack were moved over the school holidays, and the horses have settled in beautifully. They have adapted well to the new arena and are happy in their new home. RDA Peninsula is excited to welcome its first riders in this beautiful setting and is looking forward to exploring the amazing property through trail rides.
The Uncommon Folk property, located at 328 Main Creek Rd, Main Ridge, is a serene and picturesque location where RDA Peninsula can provide its programmes. For more information, interested individuals can contact RDA Peninsula via email, Facebook, or by calling Jenny Stidston at 0439 896 158.
RDA Peninsula is supported by various sponsors, grants, generous donations, and fundraising efforts. The organisation relies on these contributions to cover expenses such as feed, farrier services, tack, vet fees, and more. Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible, and interested individuals can make a donation by bank transfer or contact RDA Peninsula for information on donations of useable tack and equipment.
In addition to donations, individuals can also support RDA Peninsula by volunteering assistance at their fundraising events, such as cake stalls, book sales, and horsecar boot sales. By contributing their time and resources, the community can help RDA Peninsula continue to deliver its quality programmes and make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
RDA Peninsula Centre is committed to making a difference and providing opportunities for riders to develop their abilities and find joy through horseback riding. With the support of the community and partners like the Uncommon Folk Foundation, RDA Peninsula is able to fulfil its mission and create a welcoming and inclusive space for all.
