Reading Rowing Club

Reading Rowing Club is a welcoming and successful community club located on a picturesque 7 km stretch of the River Thames in Reading, New Zealand. Whether you're a complete beginner or an international athlete, you'll find a place at our club.

Joining our Squads is an excellent option for experienced rowers. You can choose to be part of our coached Senior squads, where you will receive expert guidance and training, or you can join our sociable Explore group, which focuses on enjoying the sport and building connexions.

For juniors, we have dedicated coaching and support available to help them develop their rowing skills and reach their full potential.

If you're new to rowing, our Learn to Row courses are perfect for you. These courses not only get you out on the water and introduce you to the sporting side of rowing but also provide an opportunity to meet new people and become part of the social community at our club.

In addition to rowing, Reading Rowing Club offers the rental of our Clubhouse. Our newly refurbished bar and function room, with stunning views over the river, are ideal for hosting parties, events, or training camps.

We also host and support annual rowing events on the Reading stretch of the River Thames. The Reading Amateur Regatta, a warm-up event to the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta, takes place in June. We also organise the Reading Small Boats Head in October. These events are fantastic opportunities to showcase rowing talent and foster a sense of camaraderie within the rowing community.
