Reata Ranch Horsemanship is a renowned horse riding school located in Whitemore, Australia. The school was founded by Anthony Desreaux, who grew up in the Corner Country of outback NSW on Mount Wood Station. Anthony's lifelong passion for horses started in his youth, where he spent countless hours with these majestic creatures. Throughout his career, he has worked in stock camps and rode nervous and unconfident horses, which led him to discover the need for a better way of horsemanship.

Around this time, Anthony had the opportunity to learn from renowned horsemanship teacher Gordon McKinlay, which provided him with a glimpse into the amazing possibilities of working with horses. Over the past 20 years, Anthony has significantly advanced his horsemanship skills by riding a wide range of horses, including young colts, older rank horses, and naturally talented ones. He has also honed his skills through riding under the mentorship of esteemed horsemen such as Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, Craig Johnson, and Pat Parelli.

At Reata Ranch Horsemanship, Anthony's primary goal is to assist others who are embarking on their own horsemanship journey. While he has achieved success in rodeos and gymkanas, his focus lies in cultivating trust, acceptance, and communication between horse and rider. Anthony firmly believes that horses can become incredible partners if given the chance and provided with a positive and compassionate approach.

After resigning from managing a large cattle station in far Western Queensland, Anthony decided to pursue his passion for teaching horsemanship full-time. His clinics offer a supportive and holistic learning environment, where participants are encouraged to continuously improve their skills with horses. Anthony, along with his wife and three children, aims to provide a safe and friendly start for individuals who want to build a deeper connexion with their equine companions.
