Founded back in 1985 by Ivan Birch, Chris Williams, and Jane Birch, this club has been a cornerstone of quality karate training.
Affiliated with the esteemed Shotokan Connect, Red Lion SKC focuses on the art of Shotokan Karate, where you can master effective blocking and striking techniques using just your hands and feet. The club honours traditional Japanese practices, offering a distinctive and authentic karate experience.
Classes are open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, and aim to build health, sporting ability, or self-defence skills. Sessions are held at the University of Brighton Sports Centre, 1 Denton Road, Eastbourne, on Mondays and Thursdays from 18:30 to 19:30—perfect for a busy schedule.
