But what exactly is Pilates and the Reformer? Pilates is a physical fitness system, known as “contrology,” that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It is a body conditioning routine that targets flexibility, core strength, and endurance in various areas such as the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It places great emphasis on proper spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing techniques, and developing a strong core.
Additionally, it improves coordination and balance.
