Hey everyone,
Dave, the organizer of the Rink of Dreams, wants to share some cool updates with you. For those who haven't been, the Rink of Dreams is Ottawa’s favourite outdoor skating spot. It's a 12,500-square-foot ice surface, open from December through March. It’s a great place for residents and tourists in the National Capital Region to hang out.
Dave's team works really hard every fall to get the rink ready. They set up the boards and make sure the ice stays perfect with top-notch refrigeration. The rink is open every day, although hours might change if the weather gets too wild. Safety is a big deal, and there are rules in place to make sure everyone has a good time.
The staff is dedicated, with three ice resurfacer operators who keep the ice in great shape from morning until it closes at 11 pm.
City Hall, where the rink is located, has more than just skating. There’s the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame, art galleries, event spaces, and more. You can even book public space at City Hall for events and gatherings. Municipal business gets first dibs, but non-profits and other groups can book it too, especially on weekday evenings and weekends.
If you need more details about booking space at City Hall or have questions about the Rink of Dreams, shoot an email to ochbookings@ottawa.ca. Dave and his team are excited to keep Rink of Dreams and City Hall buzzing with community events and fun all winter long.
See you on the ice!
