Riviera LeRoc, a dance company based in Taunton, offers LeRoc (Modern Jive) dance classes that are open to everyone. No partner is required, so individuals can simply come along and have a great time. LeRoc is a fun partnered dance that combines aspects of jive and Latin dance styles. Classes are held on Wednesdays at The Lawns Social Club in Taunton. The venue boasts one of the few remaining sprung dance floors in the area, providing a comfortable and optimal dance experience. Doors open at 7:45pm, and the beginner lesson starts at 8:10pm. The lesson breaks down moves and links them together to form an impressive routine.

Following this, the intermediate lesson begins at 9:10pm, aimed at further developing dance skills and teaching additional techniques. Freestyle dancing and socialising take place from 9:40pm to 10:55pm, allowing dancers ample time to practise their moves and connect with others. Coaching sessions are also available for beginners during the intermediate class.

In addition to the weekly classes, Riviera LeRoc organises monthly freestyles and hosts the renowned “Wiggle Wednesday” on the last Wednesday of every month. “Wiggle Wednesday” features an enhanced beginner class followed by two hours of freestyle dancing. This special event attracts dancers from far and wide, adding to the vibrant dancing community.

Gary Marsden, the founder of Riviera LeRoc, established the company in 2000 in Paignton, on the English Riviera. In January 2001, the company relocated to its current home at The Lawns Social Club in Taunton. Riviera LeRoc is a member of the LeRoc Federation, and all its teachers are professionally qualified UKA Approved Teachers. This ensures that dancers receive expert guidance and excellent value for their participation.
