Phil Hensher, the organiser of Romford Bowls Club, has a message for the sports community:
Romford Bowls Club, nestled in Lodge Farm Park in Romford, Essex, has a rich history dating back to 1898. This club, one of the oldest in the county and Havering area, welcomes bowlers of all skill levels.
Phil invites members of all abilities, from beginners to experienced international players, to join the club's friendly and inclusive environment. The club offers a range of competitive opportunities with Men's and Ladies' teams participating in five local leagues, as well as County and National Competitions. For a more social experience, there are also friendly games and matches.
Professional coaching is available, with qualified coaches from EBCS and Coach Bowls on hand. Additionally, the club has a Coaching Mentor to support other clubs in their coaching efforts. New and experienced bowlers from Romford and the surrounding areas are always welcome.
Members have full access to the club's facilities, including a comfortable bar to celebrate victories or unwind after a game. The club also organises a variety of social events, such as music nights, racing nights, social outings, and the annual presentation dinner.
Newcomers interested in trying bowls can visit on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons between 1:00pm and 2:00pm during the May to September playing season. A member will be available to greet and assist. For more details or to arrange a visit, click the Contact Button on the club's website.

Romford Bowls Club celebrates its 125th and 60th anniversaries at Lodge Farm Park this year. To mark these occasions, Phil has arranged “Friendly” games against notable opponents such as The Chelsea Pensioners, The Royal Household (Windsor), Essex County Bowls Association, The Island of Bohemia, and Romford and District Bowls Association. It's a fantastic time to become a member and join in the celebrations. 🎉
