A few years back, Lyle faced the tough news that his entire colon and more than half of his small intestine had to be removed due to cancer. His rectum was to be sewn shut, a decision forced upon him just as he was about to choose whether to keep or reverse his ileostomy. Funny thing, he was leaning towards keeping it because he didn’t miss the panicked rush to the washroom. Little did he know, the surgery ahead would be pure hell, pushing him into some really dark places.
But here’s the thing, Lyle also found some incredibly bright moments. Those dark times just made the light seem that much brighter. It's an experience that reaffirmed his belief in finding light even in the darkest of times.
