Experience a relaxed and informal camping experience at Penpont's Rose Garden & Riverside Camping. Nestled amongst mature trees and shrubs, the campsite offers a variety of small private spaces for campers to choose from, creating a peaceful and communal atmosphere.
Enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature and keep an eye out for otters, kingfishers, dippers, and other wildlife along the river. For those planning to visit with larger groups, there is an option to book the entire campsite and set up a large awning on the central rose garden lawn. With a capacity of up to 35 people, including children, the campsite can cater to your needs.
Although primarily a tent-only site, we do have limited space available for camper vans in the Orchard area. However, please note that we do not provide electrical hook-ups or facilities for emptying chemical loos.
During the summer months, our beloved Punch & Judy bar occasionally opens up for sundowners, providing a delightful evening experience with special events, feasts, and music. And for those looking to relax and unwind, our woodfired sauna, crafted from timber harvested on-site, can comfortably accommodate up to 9 people at a time.
For your convenience, our on-site Farm Shop offers a range of fresh, organic vegetables and fruit from our walled gardens. You can also find delicious local organic meat, eggs, Penpont honey, homemade jam, and chutneys. So, you can indulge in some tasty treats during your stay.
Just a short walk from the campsite, you'll find our Stable Block, which houses hot showers, toilets, a washing up sink, and a standpipe for fresh water. We want to ensure that your camping experience is as comfortable as possible.
If you're a fan of swimming and fishing, you're in luck! Our campsite provides access to the river, complete with deep swimming pools and fishing rights. However, please note that fishing is restricted to fly only and catch & release.
If you need any fuel for your campfire, don't worry! You can purchase seasoned bags of logs and charcoal from our campsite.
Lastly, we kindly ask that you respect the natural beauty of our surroundings. Penpont is home to rare old ornamental trees and abundant wildlife. In order to maintain the site's charm, we follow a few baseline rules that we ask all campers to adhere to.
