The Rover Speleological Society (RSS) is a sports club based in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1986, RSS was formed by members of the Scouting Movement who wanted to further their enjoyment of caving. RSS is open to anyone interested in caves and caving, regardless of their experience or ability. While the society is primarily based in Sydney, it boasts members from across Australia.
The main goal of RSS is to provide an avenue for present and past members of the Scouting and Guiding movements to further their interests in caving. The society organises a range of caving and social activities, including monthly meetings, weekend caving trips, extended trips, and major expeditions. Typically, RSS runs one trip per month in addition to monthly meetings.
The society aims to strike a balance between recreational caving, project work, and learning more about caves and all things associated with caving.
