Founded on 1st January 1810 as the Montrose Golf Club, it's recognised as the 9th oldest golf club in the world. In 1845, Prince Albert granted Royal Patronage, renaming it Montrose Royal Albert Golf Club, making it the third-oldest Royal Club globally. 🏌️♂️
In 1986, it merged with Victoria Golf Club, and in 2019, it joined forces with Montrose Mercantile Golf Club, forming the Royal Montrose Mercantile Golf Club. Today, this club thrives in the old Royal Montrose clubhouse, celebrating a rich legacy.
The club boasts the Montrose 1562 Medal course, host to major events like the Scottish Professional's Championship, the Scottish Amateur Championship, the British Boys Championship, and the Final Qualifying Competitions for The Open and Senior Open at Carnoustie.
