Welcome to Marden Primary Academy in Kent, the home of Rugby Taggers! Our outdoor sessions are held every Saturday morning throughout the year, providing a fantastic opportunity for children to get involved in the exciting world of rugby.
Our Rugby Taggers Progression Program is specifically designed to introduce children as young as 2.5 years old to the sport, ensuring they develop a solid foundation in rugby fundamentals through engaging games and activities.
For our Tiny Taggers aged 2.5 to 5 years old, this session is an absolute blast. Boys and girls can come together to play games, have fun, make new friends, and create memories while learning the basics of real outdoor rugby. We strongly encourage parent participation during this session, as it offers a wonderful opportunity for parent-child bonding and social interaction. Plus, we encourage minimal mobile device use during this special time together!
Our Junior Taggers, for ages 6 to 10 (or end of year 6 primary school age), is the perfect platform for children to learn rugby skills and techniques in an enjoyable and supportive environment. Whether your child has come through our Tiny Taggers program or has little to no rugby experience, this session is designed to nurture their rugby abilities and prepare them for playing at rugby-playing secondary schools. Parent participation is not required unless specifically requested.
Looking to take the next step in your child's rugby journey? Our Tag to School group is tailor-made for children in years 6, 7, 8, and 9. Tag To Tackle is a progressionary program that covers a wide range of rugby techniques and skills, providing a safe and controlled environment for players to bridge the gap from tag rugby to contact rugby. This is perfect for those who will be or are currently playing rugby at secondary schools and rugby clubs. It's also a great opportunity for young rugby enthusiasts to receive additional coaching and develop a competitive edge. In this session, players will delve into topics such as correct falling techniques, ball presentation, tackling, body positions, rucking, general gameplay, and much more.
