Rushmoor Youth Swimming, located in Yateley, is a swimming club that is dedicated to teaching children the essential life skill of swimming. The club strongly believes that all children should have the opportunity to learn how to swim and be safe in the water. They prioritise teaching basic water safety and life-saving skills so that children can confidently navigate any aquatic situation they may encounter in the future.
Rushmoor Youth Swimming follows the STA International Learn to Swim scheme, which consists of various levels starting from STA Octopus 1 and progressing to STA Water Safety Skills Gold. Children as young as 5. 5 years old can join the club, with a preference given to those who are already involved in recognised youth organisations like scouts and guides.
Finding the information you need on Rushmoor Youth Swimming's social media and club directories is made simple and user-friendly. If you have any trouble finding what you are looking for, the club encourages you to reach out to them via email for assistance.
As for the club's operations, lessons take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Yateley School. The current fee is 45 per term, which covers the 12-week course. At the end of each term, swimmers who have successfully completed their assessments are charged 2 for their certificate and badge, given during week 12. Occasionally, swimmers may not pass at the end of a term, as further training may be needed for their safety and to ensure they can fully achieve the outcomes of the course.
The club's primary focus is on the swimmers' progression and enjoyment throughout their swimming journey.
Rushmoor Youth Swimming operates four terms of 12 weeks each year, except certain holidays like Christmas and any potential pool closures. They are a private swimming club that teaches children starting from the age of 6, giving preference to those involved in recognised youth organisations such as Scouts, Guides, and St John Ambulance.
To keep parents informed and up to date, the club regularly updates their Facebook page with club news and any changes to published information. They also provide access to past newsletters, allowing members to reference previous updates. These newsletters are available as a resource for parents seeking information from previous years.
Established in 1973, Rushmoor Youth Swimming has a long-standing history of providing quality swimming instruction.
