About
Sailing Starlight is a yacht club in Chatham, UK, started by two mates, Mike and Olly. Back in January 2017, they were dreaming about sailing to the Caribbean in a 29' sailboat, and that led to a serious plan.
Mike and Olly didn't just want to escape the daily grind; they wanted to go on proper adventures. They got a bigger boat, set a departure date, and off they went to explore the seas. Their motto? It's a gem from Mark Twain: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” That’s what Sailing Starlight is all about – grabbing life by the scruff of the neck and going on unforgettable adventures.
Want to keep up with their journey? Check out their blog. Plus, they're all about giving back and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, encouraging members to donate.
Sailing Starlight isn’t just any yacht club. It’s about living life to the fullest. Mike and Olly have a sense of humour, a stash of tinned spinach, and loads of beans on toast, ready to tackle whatever comes their way. Mike’s biggest worry? Olly. Olly’s biggest worry? Lightning strikes in the middle of the Atlantic. But it was that very spark that kickstarted their epic journey.
Sailing Starlight is for anyone who loves the open seas and the thrill of the unknown. It’s about going beyond the everyday and making epic memories.
