Salsa classes in Wilmslow is a prominent dance school offering high-quality Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata classes in the Wilmslow area of Knutsford, Macclesfield, and Altrincham. Their classes cater to all levels, including Cuban, Colombian, and Cross body styles, making it an ideal place for beginners and experienced dancers alike.
The dance school offers an easy and enjoyable way to learn the most dynamic, vibrant, and sensual dance in the world. With a focus on social dancing, they aim to make every dancer comfortable and confident on the dance floor, able to dance with any other dancer.
Classes are held throughout the week at various locations, including Knutsford Shaw Heat Social Club on Mondays, Morley Green Club in Wilmslow on Tuesdays, Rustic Bar in Altrincham on Wednesdays, and The Silk Trader in Macclesfield on Thursdays. The schedule provides flexibility for students to choose a location and time that is convenient for them.
To stay updated on the starting dates of the next course, interested individuals are encouraged to leave their name and mobile number on the contact section of the website or social media page. This ensures that they receive a reminder text the week before the course starts, preventing any missed opportunities.
The course is priced at 7 per person, payable on a pay-as-you-go basis for one hour of instruction. It is designed to transform students into good social salsa dancers, emphasising the ability to dance with any partner. No partner is required to join the course, as there is constant rotation of partners during classes, allowing everyone to adapt and learn from each other. Corrections and assistance are provided by the instructor, Alejandro, and his female assistant.
The course progresses in complexity week by week, ensuring continuous growth and improvement. To aid in progress tracking, the curriculum includes a list of 35 combinations, with the first nine deemed essential for becoming a good social salsa dancer. Repetition of previous classes' content before introducing new material builds muscle memory, leading to beautiful and smooth footwork and combinations.
For additional practise and accelerated learning, the dance school provides a YouTube salsa course with beginner to advanced levels. There are also salsa music playlists with counting, making it easier for students to practise on their own.
It is important to note that, due to the nature of salsa footwork and the diminishing ability to learn new movements as we age, the recommended age limit for complete beginners is 50 years old. However, exceptions are made for individuals who have previous dance experience. For those over 50 interested in learning salsa, a slower-paced class is available, with a recommended 15-hour course duration instead of the standard 10 hours.
Salsa classes in Wilmslow is dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for individuals of all ages and abilities to learn and enjoy the energetic and sensual world of salsa dancing. Join them today and embark on a journey to become a skilled and confident social salsa dancer.
