Salsa con Irene is a vibrant dance school and instruction centre located in Cardiff, South Wales. Specialising in Latin partner dance, specifically the L. A Style Salsa, the classes at Salsa con Irene offer a perfect combination of fun and exercise. The experienced instructors ensure that students have an enjoyable time while also benefiting from a great workout.

In addition to Salsa classes, Salsa con Irene also offers Zumba classes. Zumba is a Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness class that incorporates various styles from around the world, including Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Belly Dancing. It is a non-partner dance that is easy to follow and suitable for everyone. The Zumba classes at Salsa con Irene are held in the Whitchurch area of Cardiff and provide a fantastic workout for participants.

For those interested in learning Salsa, Salsa con Irene offers a 5-week Salsa course starting on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. The course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those at an intermediate level. Participants will learn the basics of Salsa, including mambo, leading, and following to the salsa rhythm. The classes are not only great exercise but also provide a social environment as students will have the opportunity to rotate partners during the class.

The weekly Salsa and Zumba classes at Salsa con Irene are held at St Mary's Church Hall in Whitchurch, Cardiff. The classes take place on Monday at 11:00am, Tuesday at 6:00pm, and Saturday at 10:30am. Due to limited numbers for social distancing, booking is required for these classes. The cost per class is 7, and participants are advised to wear appropriate footwear, have enough space to dance, and stay hydrated during the classes.

If anyone feels unwell, they are encouraged not to attend.

The founder of Salsa con Irene, Irene Constantinou, has had a passion for dance since a young age. She started dancing at the age of 7 and later discovered her love for Salsa at 24. Irene has travelled extensively to attend classes taught by top teachers and has even won the Welsh salsa championships. She began teaching and performing after completing a teacher's course and has taught in various venues in and outside of Cardiff.

Irene is also a licenced Zumba instructor and currently teaches both Salsa and Zumba at Salsa con Irene in Whitchurch.

In addition to regular classes, Salsa con Irene also organises events for the dance community. One such event is a family-friendly Salsa event at the beautiful Coal Exchange, featuring renowned teachers Mauricio Reyes, Julian Atkins, Dalia Roccaforte, and Irene Constantinou. The event includes dance classes for all levels and live music. All the profits from the event are donated to Cancer Research Wales in memory of a beloved friend.
