Welcome to SAMA Karate & Kickboxing, a reputable kickboxing school located in Eastbourne. With over 45 years of experience, SAMA has become one of the largest and most professional karate and kickboxing groups in the UK, with thousands of students training on a weekly basis.
At SAMA, we offer a range of classes for children and adults. Our children's karate classes are specifically designed for kids aged 5 years and above, while our kickboxing classes are suitable for children aged 7 years and above. We have over 50 separate classes running throughout our areas, providing parents and students with plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to attending our classes.
One of the key advantages of choosing SAMA is our pay-as-you-go system. Unlike many other martial arts groups, boot camps, or gyms, all of our classes operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. This means that if for any reason you or your child are unable to attend a class, whether due to sickness, holiday, or any other reason, you won't lose your money.
At SAMA, we take pride in the qualifications and credentials of our instructors. All of our instructors hold first aid and safeguarding certifications and follow a child protection policy endorsed by F. E. K.
O (Federation of English Karate Organisations). Additionally, they are all DBS checked, ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. SAMA is a full member of F. O (Federation of English Karate Organisations), F.
I. O (Federation of International Karate Organisations), and F. M. A (Federation of Martial Arts Association).
We are also approved as a youth group, examiners for GCSE Karate, and a registered Change for Life supporter. With 10,000,000 Public Liability, 2,000,000 Instructor Indemnity, and individual member insurance, SAMA ensures that all members are covered.
SAMA was established in 1978 by our chief instructor, Hanshi Alan Gibson 9th Dan, who has over 60 years of martial arts experience. The areas of Bexhill, Hailsham, Eastbourne, St Leonards, Hastings, and Battle were set up and continue to be run by our head instructor, Renshi Lee Gibson, with over 40 years of martial arts experience. Recently, we have expanded to our brand new area in Ashford, which is overseen by Renshi's highest graded instructor, Yondan Liam O'Hara. Renshi Gibson, along with his dedicated instructors, have been working tirelessly for over 25 years, consistently seeking to grow all aspects of SAMA and provide more opportunities for our members.
