The classes at Sam Yoga are loosely based on the Sivananda style of yoga, which blends specific pranayama (breath-work) to quiet the mind, with energising and restorative asanas (postures) to nourish and strengthen the body. Each class concludes with a deep and peaceful relaxation that provides space to dissolve the illusion of time. The studio believes in the quote from The Bhagavad Gita, “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.

Sam, the founder and teacher at Sam Yoga, has been teaching yoga for over 12 years. She has taught in various locations, from the countryside of the UK to the foothills of the Sinai desert in Egypt. Sam's personal yoga journey began when she turned to the practise to manage stress. Falling in love with yoga, she made the decision to follow her heart and travelled to Dahab in Egypt, where she discovered its magic and abundant energy.
Since then, Sam has dedicated herself to spreading the benefits of yoga and helping others find inner peace and freedom.
Sam trained in Sivananda Yoga in 2011 and after her training, Sam Yoga was born. She believes in taking a mindful approach to life, emphasising the importance of being present in the here and now. Her classes provide a safe foundation for growth and emergence into the present moment. Sam places strong emphasis on physical safety and encourages students to work in a way that is steady, comfortable, and challenging.
She provides guidance and support for both beginners and advanced yogis, allowing students to find their own edge within their practise.
