Santosha Yoga Australia, located in Kingston and Kettering, Tasmania, is a yoga studio dedicated to helping individuals find ease in their bodies and minds. With a belief that each person has a unique body, Santosha Yoga Australia emphasises the importance of practising yoga poses in a way that suits individual shape, size, proportions, and range of movement. By guiding students in this personalised approach, the studio aims to help them find freedom and ease within their bodies, which in turn allows for a deeper connexion to the mind.
Led by Danielle, Santosha Yoga Australia offers a range of class styles suitable for individuals of all fitness levels and prior yoga experience. The studio aims to create an inclusive environment, where everyone can find a class that suits their needs and abilities. Whether an individual is fit or not, flexible or not, a beginner or experienced yoga student, there is something for everyone at Santosha Yoga Australia.
The name “Santosha” is derived from the Sanskrit word for contentment, which reflects the studio's belief in the power of contentment, gratitude, and acceptance to cultivate happiness from within. By practising yoga in a way that emphasises contentment and acceptance of one's own body, Santosha Yoga Australia encourages students to find inner peace and fulfilment.
The studio offers a variety of weekly classes to cater to different preferences and goals. These classes include Vinyasa yoga, a dynamic, and flowing style that builds strength and flexibility while clearing the mind; Yin yoga, a passive style that targets the connective tissue to promote suppleness and relaxation; Mindful Movement, a gentle class designed for the older body to age with ease; and Slow and Steady, a class that combines strength-building poses with slow and mindful movement. Each class is designed to leave participants feeling strong, mobile, and calm.
Santosha Yoga Australia offers both casual attendance options and term packages. Casual rates for classes are $23 in Kingston and $21 in Kettering. Additionally, the studio provides detailed information about term pricing on their website.
Danielle, the founder of Santosha Yoga Australia, has over 20 years of personal yoga practise and 10 years of teaching experience. She understands firsthand the challenges and insecurities of being in a body that may not find yoga poses effortless. However, through her own journey, she has found contentment in her body and aims to share that experience with her students. After completing her 200-hour teaching qualification with Power Living Australia Yoga, Danielle's outlook on life shifted when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
This experience taught her the importance of reducing stress, finding balance, and caring for oneself on physical, mental, and emotional levels. This transformation motivated her to help others navigate their own journeys and find happiness, regardless of life's challenges.
At Santosha Yoga Australia, individuals are encouraged to embrace their uniqueness, find ease in their bodies and minds, and cultivate contentment, gratitude, and acceptance. Through personalised guidance, diverse class offerings, and a supportive environment, the studio aims to create a space where individuals can experience the transformative power of yoga.
