The school offers a range of classes, including classical ballet, commercial jazz, and contemporary dancing. Students who take ballet lessons have the opportunity to take Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations, which are globally recognised and also count towards UCAS points. In addition to regular classes, students are given the chance to showcase their talents in the school's highly anticipated dance productions. They also have the opportunity to participate in professional dance workshops, further enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Sarah Louise believes that teaching dance is not just a job, but a passion. She takes great pleasure in bringing dance to the local community and encouraging children of all ages to join in. Aside from running the school, Sarah Louise is also a qualified secondary education teacher. She has taught GCSE and A-Level Dance at Northallerton College and continues to teach dance classes in various local primary and nursery schools. These classes provide a fun and inclusive alternative to traditional physical education, helping children develop their coordination and musicality while socialising with others.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Sarah Louise also works as a teaching mentor for The Royal Academy of Dance, supporting and guiding other aspiring dance teachers in their training.
The Sarah Louise School of Dance was founded in 2003 and has since grown to over 200 pupils, with a waiting list for places.
