Sarah Moss is a highly experienced yoga instructor based in Ipswich, Suffolk. With over 20 years of personal yoga practise, she discovered the immense benefits of yoga in managing stress while working as a Veterinary Nurse. Inspired by teaching yoga to children, Sarah decided to further develop her own practise and obtained qualifications from The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) to teach both adults and children.
Sarah keeps her skills up to date through continuous professional development (CPD) by attending workshops led by leading yoga teachers. This ensures that she can bring fresh ideas and interests to her classes, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for her students. In 2016, she completed a BWY Meditation Module and an 8-week Mindfulness course, allowing her to incorporate these practises into her classes with confidence.
In September 2018, Sarah completed a specialised 12-week course called 'Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs', which was a result of successful research conducted by The University of York and Arthritis Research UK. Having received positive feedback from teaching this course, Sarah is passionate about helping individuals with back issues. Furthermore, she completed a BWY module in 2019 focused on 'Yoga for people living with cancer', reflecting her dedication to utilising yoga as a therapeutic tool for those affected by this disease.
During the lockdown period, Sarah had the opportunity to work with exceptional yoga teachers online and participated in a 5-day course in Yin yoga. As a result, she now incorporates Yin yoga into her Thursday evening class on Zoom. This enables students to experience the benefits of this gentle and introspective practise.
Sarah's adult classes cater to both newcomers and experienced practitioners. She offers a blend of live classes and Zoom sessions to accommodate the changing circumstances. Her classes take place at various locations throughout the week, including Castle Hill Community Centre, Alan Road Methodist Church, The Ipswich Institute, and ActivLives on Landseer Road. Additionally, Sarah conducts workshops on Saturday afternoons every other month, which provide an opportunity for deeper exploration and learning within yoga.
For Sarah, the safety and well-being of her students are of utmost importance. She holds insurance coverage of 5,000,000 with the British Wheel of Yoga and is certified in Emergency First Aid at Work level 2. Sarah's expertise extends beyond regular classes, as she is available for children's parties, sessions in schools and nurseries, and can provide holiday cover for adult yoga classes.
