About
Scarborough Archers, steered by Alex Duncan, is a top-notch archery club in Scarborough with roots going back to 1934. Nestled in Osgodby, they've got prime shooting grounds that attract everyone from casual shooters to competitive archers.
In 2014, Alex led the charge to buy their field, expanding facilities to suit all kinds of archery – Recurve, Longbow, and Field Bows. They've even set up a 3D field target area for that extra bit of challenge.
Alex is big on community, so Scarborough Archers feels like family. They regularly host BBQs, open days, and nights out, making it easy to socialise off the field. Families are always welcome.
Keen to try archery? Alex organises “Have-A-Go” sessions in 2023. For a fiver (or £3 if you’re under 18), you get an hour of archery fun once a month. Just shoot an email to beginners@scarborougharchers.org to snag a spot.
For total newbies, there are beginner’s courses set for 2023. Spread over two days, each session lasts about 2.5 hours and comes with personalised coaching from experts. You’ll learn shooting techniques, bow types, and competition scoring. Gear up with the club’s equipment – they’ve got you covered.
Stay updated by following Scarborough Archers on Facebook and Twitter. Their website also has handy links to Archery GB, scoresheets, and info on tournaments in Yorkshire.
Pop by for a visit or hit up a shooting night. Find them at Osgodby Lane, YO11 3SB, or drop an email at enquiries@scarborougharchers.org for more details. Alex and the crew can’t wait to welcome you!
