Our horse riding experiences cater to riders of all levels, from beginners to experienced riders. We have a range of horses to suit different abilities and our experienced school masters are perfect for beginners, nervous riders, and children looking to gain confidence. For more capable riders, we have a selection of experienced competition horses to suit individual preferences and riding styles.
During our hour-long sessions, riders will have the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views and scenery of Scotland's best countryside on horseback. Our rides can include views of iconic landmarks such as Tantallon Castle and the world-famous Bass Rock, as well as the beautiful Seacliff Beach. Please note, riding on the beach is only available for intermediate and above riders.
Safety is our top priority, and we ride primarily on private land to minimise traffic and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We are located just 2 miles from North Berwick in East Lothian, near Edinburgh, and our family-run stables are surrounded by stunning scenery for you to explore.
In addition to our hour-long rides, we also offer half-hour rides for young children aged 4 and above who want to give horse riding a try. These shorter rides provide a gentle introduction to horse riding and allow children to experience the joy of being on a horse.
To make a booking, we kindly ask UK-based customers to call or text us, while customers based abroad can email us with the necessary information. Please provide your name, contact number, date of ride, and relevant details such as the age, height, weight, and riding level of each rider. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, we require confirmation that they have read and understood all the information provided.
Please note that we have implemented a cancellation policy due to last-minute cancellations. If a ride is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time, there will be a charge of 100% of the total cost. Group bookings are required to pay in full at the time of booking, and if cancelled before 48 hours, 50% will be refunded.
It is important to arrive 25 minutes before your scheduled ride to allow time for organisation. Single group bookings can have mixed abilities and accommodate up to 8 riders, depending on height, weight, and experience level. However, access to the beach may be restricted based on riding levels.
Our rides run from Tuesday to Sunday, with typical ride times scheduled at 9am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2pm. During peak season, it is recommended to book Tuesday to Friday for one-off sessions. Weekends are usually fully booked with regular riders. We also offer a 1.
5-hour session that is ideal for experienced riders during peak season from Tuesday to Thursday, with a cost of 75 for riders aged 12 and above and 55 for riders aged 11 and under.
We encourage regular riders to have their own safety equipment, including a properly fitting riding hat that meets UK standards, boots with a small heel of at least 1/2 inch, and gloves. Furthermore, we have hats available to borrow, but it is highly recommended to invest in your own for a better fit and safety compliance.
Before each ride, all riders are required to read and complete a Code of Conduct and Rider Registration Form, which must be handed over to the ride leader. While many Covid restrictions have now lifted, we maintain some biosecurity measures to ensure a safe environment for all riders.
