Sedbergh Bowling Club, located in Sedbergh, New Zealand, is a lawn bowls club that prides itself on its rich history and commitment to the sport. The club holds an annual open competition and also competes in local leagues, showcasing their dedication to both individual and team play.

The club has a fascinating history that dates back to April 1906 when the idea of forming a Club was first proposed. Thanks to the generous donation of land by the Upton family of Ingmire Hall, the club was granted space for both gardens, to commemorate Queen Victorias jubilee, as well as a bowling green. The club signed an agreement with the Parish Council in March 1911, securing an annual tenancy that still stands to this day.

In 2011, Sedbergh Bowling Club celebrated its centenary, honouring the clubs longevity and dedication to the sport. Annual General meetings are held on the last Thursday of February each year, allowing members to have a say in the clubs direction and operations.

Competitions are a highlight at Sedbergh Bowling Club, with various events held throughout the year for club members. The club also hosts an annual competition that is open to all registered Crown Green Bowling Association members, showcasing the clubs commitment to promoting the sport at a larger scale. Club members have reserved time slots on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons, while the club also enters teams in various local leagues, playing on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Kendal and District League.

Membership is open to all, and new members are always welcome. The club offers taster sessions for those interested in trying out lawn bowls before committing to full membership. All players are required to wear flat-soled shoes without a separate heel, ensuring a level playing field for all participants. Bowls are available for borrowing, making it accessible for individuals who may not have their own equipment.

Sedbergh Bowling Clubs green is conveniently situated at the rear of Queens Gardens, about three quarters of a mile west of Sedbergh on the A684. Entry on foot is possible through the gardens, and there is a car park accessible via Queens Drive. The entrance to the club can be found between the last two bungalows on the right-hand side. The club is proud to be affiliated with the British Crown Green Bowling Association and adheres to the rules and regulations set forth by the governing body. Visitors are always welcomed on non-Club days, with a small fee of 1 per session. An honesty slot can be found in the Clubhouse wall for visitors to make their payment.
