The Semaphore Workers Club, located on the Esplanade in Semaphore, is a live music venue that has been a staple in the community for over 30 years. With its stunning seafront view, the club has become a beloved destination for music lovers in Semaphore and beyond.
The club has a rich history, starting out as the headquarters of the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron before transitioning into a hub for progressive politics on the Peninsula. In line with current COVID-19 guidelines, the club is currently open on Friday nights, featuring some of the best bands in Adelaide performing on the Red Stage. Fidel's is a smaller venue located at 66 Wattle Ave, Royal Park, and provides a great stage for bands and entertainment on a monthly basis.
Both the Semaphore Workers Club and Fidel's are available for private bookings, and interested parties can contact the club for more details. Under current COVID-19 guidelines, the Semaphore Workers Club can accommodate up to 100 seated guests, while Fidel's has a capacity of 75 seated guests and limited kitchen facilities.
The Semaphore Workers Club also boasts a rich history, dating back to 1913, with features such as a billiard room and smoking room reminiscent of its origins as the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron Club House.
