Shames Mountain Ski Area is a skiing destination located in the Kitimat-Stikine region of British Columbia. Boasting 1,600 vertical feet of powder and an annual snowfall of 475 inches, Shames Mountain offers some of the deepest and most consistent snow packs in North America. Nestled in the breathtaking Shames Valley amidst the Coast Mountain Range, this ski area is just 35 kms west of Terrace.

Established in the early 1990s, Shames Mountain features 28 cut runs and an abundance of natural glades, catering to skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts. With over 7,800 acres of backcountry access, the options for exploration are endless.

The ski area operates from December to March, with varying hours depending on the season. Visitors can enjoy the facilities at the Shames day lodge, which houses a ticket office, retail lockers, ski patrol headquarters, and the Panhandler Caf serving a variety of food and drinks. Galloway's Mountain Bar on the second floor is a popular spot for apres-ski drinks and live music during special events.
