
Shaolin Kung Fu – Avondale is a renowned martial arts school located in Auckland, New Zealand. Situated in the heart of Avondale, the training centre is conveniently positioned at Avondale Primary School on Crayford Street West. With the Avondale Train Station and bus stops just a short 2-minute walk away, accessibility to the facility is effortless.
The classes at Shaolin Kung Fu – Avondale are open to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Led by highly skilled Instructor Sifu Julian Paul, a third degree black belt and examiner of the Shaolin Kung Fu Association, students receive top-notch instruction. Further support is provided by experienced instructors Tohi Tapsell and Talat Hussein, both second-degree black belts.
The school is proud to offer training opportunities for children, teens, and adults, allowing families to train together if desired. During these mixed age sessions, the assistant instructors teach age-appropriate content, ensuring that everyone receives suitable instruction. Additionally, there are specialised classes available for Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), as well as extra training time allocated for seniors and advanced students.
The schedule at the Avondale Training Centre includes Wednesday classes for children aged 7–12 years from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and adult classes for those 13 years and older from 7:30pm to 9pm. On Fridays, there is a combined class for individuals aged 7 years and above from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Apart from the Avondale location, Shaolin Kung Fu Association has training centres in other areas as well. These include Te Atatu and Johnsonville in Auckland, Whanganui in Manawatu, and Whitby and Newtown in Wellington. Moreover, for individuals who cannot access the training centres in person, there is an opportunity for distance learning. Shaolin Kung Fu Association is dedicated to promoting the learning, practise, and sharing of Shaolin Kung Fu, and they accommodate those who may be based in areas without a training centre or prefer to learn remotely.
