Shapewell Fitness is a personal training company based in Penarth, owned and operated by Cath Jenkins. With over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, Cath is an advanced personal trainer, strength and conditioning athlete coach, and a movement and performance specialist. She is also a qualified rehab therapist, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive care and support.
Shapewell Fitness offers a wide range of services to cater to individuals with varying fitness goals and needs. These services include online training, outdoor training, and private gym sessions for one-on-one personal training clients. Cath, a female trainer, is also available for couples personal training and group training sessions. In addition, Shapewell Fitness provides specialised services such as nutrition guidance, sport-specific strength and conditioning, fitness testing, body composition analysis, injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, and GP referrals.
Shapewell has private gyms located in Llanishen, Cardiff, and Penarth, each equipped to accommodate clients' training needs. The Llanishen gym operates above a professional physiotherapy clinic named Pro Sports Medicine, which works closely with esteemed sports organisations like the Welsh Rugby Union and Cardiff Blues. This collaboration allows Shapewell to offer an “In House Package” of personal training combined with access to professional sports therapy, physiotherapy, and sports medicine services.
Established in January 2002, Shapewell has been operating as a private personal training company for over 20 years. Cath is fully qualified, insured, and holds a current First Aid Certificate, ensuring the safety of her clients. Regardless of fitness level or ability, Shapewell caters to all individuals, whether they are beginners, athletes, or individuals with specific injuries or concerns about training.
With her extensive background as a former competition figure skater, bodybuilder, surfer, and snowboarder, Cath possesses specialised knowledge in core stability, balance work, muscle building, body sculpting, and fat loss. Her personal journey in various sports allows her to understand and cater to the unique needs and goals of her clients.
Shapewell Fitness operates from their private gyms in Llanishen, Cardiff, and Penarth, which serve as the base for online and one-on-one personal training, sports injuries, rehabilitation, and GP referrals. In addition, Cath offers face-to-face personal training sessions, online training sessions for increased flexibility, and outdoor training sessions in Cardiff or Penarth. Equipment for outdoor training is provided by Shapewell Fitness.
