Sharpe Academy – Stanmore, located in North West London, is a renowned drama school, amateur theatre, dance school, and performing arts group. Established in 2008, Sharpe offers a range of weekend and evening classes for students aged 3-18, including Musical Theatre, Acting, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, and Acrobatics.

Sharpe Academy opened its doors with just 6 students on register but quickly grew in popularity. In 2010, Sharpe began producing large-scale musicals for young performers, attracting over 200 students to participate in weekly classes focused on singing, dance, and acting. The following year, Sharpe expanded its services by opening a theatrical agency to represent young performers professionally. This move led to many students landing roles in the West End, International Tours, TV series, commercials, and films.

Notably, in August 2016, Sharpe Academy achieved the official Guinness World Record for the Fastest Theatrical Production ever staged. They completed the production of Annie the Musical in just 15 hours, a record they held for three years. In July 2018, Sharpe celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a grand Musical Theatre Gala performance at The Watford Colosseum, featuring 600 students.

In September 2019, Sharpe Academy took a significant step forward by becoming a full-time college, offering a specialist 3-Year Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre and Acting. However, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 forced Sharpe to adapt quickly. Within 24 hours of the UK lockdown announcement, they rebranded as Sharpe Online, transferring their entire timetable onto Zoom and Instagram LIVE. They successfully ran over 800 classes, not only for Sharpe students but for thousands of students worldwide.

In October 2020, Sharpe Academy moved into newly renovated college buildings located at Harrow Arts Centre. The centre offers professional dance studios, theory rooms, rehearsal spaces, outdoor recreational areas, a 500-seat professional theatre, and a café/bar, with parking available. Moreover, being next to an Everyone Active Swimming Pool and just a 2-minute walk from Hatch End Train Station (direct line to London Euston), it provides easy accessibility for students and visitors.

Despite the challenges faced, Sharpe Academy continues to thrive. Currently, they have 36 full-time students registered for their specialised diploma programme and teach hundreds of part-time students every week in Musical Theatre, Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Acrobatics.
