Sheepdrove Yoga is a physical fitness programme located in Hungerford, New Zealand. Their goal is to help individuals improve their mind, body, and overall well-being through the practise of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Led by Jane, a qualified yoga teacher, yoga and butekyo breathing therapist, and mindfulness & meditation teacher, Sheepdrove Yoga offers sessions for individuals of all skill levels.
Jane has an MA in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from SOAS, University of London, and she is dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for her students. Additionally, Sheepdrove Yoga is proud to invite senior teachers throughout the year to enhance the variety and expertise of their sessions. In the last week of January 2024, Maggie O'Grady, an Iyengar yoga teacher and meditation teacher with an MA in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation, will be joining to cover sessions. Later in 2024, Richard Agar-Ward and June Whittaker will be leading weekend yoga workshops.
Sheepdrove Yoga offers a range of options for individuals to participate in their fitness programme. They have weekly group sessions, as well as 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 sessions. The group sessions are limited to 10 participants or fewer and can be booked for a course of 4, 5, 8, or 9 weeks depending on the class and time of year. Currently, they offer four group live yoga classes each week, including community classes for all abilities on Monday evenings, yoga therapy and group 1-2-1 sessions on Tuesday evenings, Zoom group classes on Tuesday evenings, and a meditation circle of practise on Wednesday evenings.
They also offer a yoga class specifically for experienced practitioners on Thursday evenings.
For those interested in signing up for a session that is already full, Sheepdrove Yoga encourages reaching out to Jane to be added to a waiting list. Additionally, they offer the option to book 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 sessions live in the Yoga Shack or through Zoom. Availability can be checked through the calendar, and if there is not a suitable date or time, individuals can contact Jane directly to arrange a session.
To stay updated on class announcements and other information, Sheepdrove Yoga recommends joining their Wix app and What's App group. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance online through the website's booking page. Additionally, Sheepdrove Yoga is committed to giving back to the community and regularly raises money for charity through yoga workshops in the garden and silent retreats. In 2023, they raised 714 for the DEC Relief campaign and an additional 637 for the local charity, Vale in the Community.
Sheepdrove Yoga welcomes anyone, regardless of financial difficulties, and offers reduced rates for those in need. Testimonials from satisfied clients speak to the caring and professional nature of the instructors and the positive impact the practise of yoga has had on their lives.
