Shinkyokushin Karate Port Macquarie Dojo – Karate Kids on The Spectrum is a martial arts school located in Port Macquarie, Australia. The school is headed by Melinda Baksi, a Kyokushinkai black belt instructor with decades of international teaching experience. Melinda started her Kyokushin karate journey in 1987 in Hungary and has since dedicated her life to the practise and teaching of this martial art.

Melinda's husband, who holds a 6th kyu (yellow belt) grade, is a Nuclear Physicist, and their son, who holds an 8th kyu (blue belt) grade, is a vision impaired child. The family moved to Port Macquarie three years ago and decided to open the Kyokushin Karate Port Macquarie Dojo to share their passion for karate with the local community.

At Shinkyokushin Karate Port Macquarie Dojo, the focus is not only on physical training but also on mental and character development. The school follows the Kyokushin philosophy, which emphasises discipline, respect for others, loyalty to ideals, and continuous self-improvement. Students are encouraged to push their limits, practise their knowledge, and uphold these values in their everyday lives.

The school is grateful for the sponsorship provided by the Port Macquarie Tacking Point Lions Club. This sponsorship enables children to attend the Australian National Championships and the school hopes to maintain this positive association in the future.
