Shipston Archers

Shipston Archers is an archery club located in Banbury, Warwickshire. Their mission is to promote and encourage participation in one of the most historic sports and pastimes, archery. With a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, archery has not only been a means of competition but has also played a significant role in the national fighting force.

Shipston Archers aims to rekindle the elements of competition and fair play that are integral to this sport. They believe that archery can be enjoyed by individuals of all ability levels, including those with physical disabilities or mobility problems. Established in 2015, Shipston Archers initially started as a satellite club to Great Rissington Archers. Their main focus was to introduce archery as a new sport for Shipston High School, thanks to a funding grant from Coventry and Warwickshire Sport. The club's constitution was designed to ensure ongoing support and promotion of archery in local schools. Shipston Archers provides equipment, instruction, and coaching for students as part of the sports curriculum and as an extracurricular club.

The club shooting times are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 hrs until dusk, Saturdays from 13:00 hrs until 17:00 hrs, and Sundays, subject to field availability. For any updates, they recommend checking out their Facebook page.

Shipston Archers is managed by a dedicated club committee, including David Beeton as Secretary and founder, Rosie Stewart as Chair, Phil Sherer as Treasurer, and members Pete Cox, Matt Nunan, and Steve Hughes.
