Shukokai Karate Federation, Kimura Shukokai

Shukokai Karate Federation, Kimura Shukokai is a well-established martial arts club located in Oldham, New Zealand. It was founded in 1980 by Sensei Keith Cockburn, who trained with Sensei Kimura and Sensei Daniels when they formed the Shukokai Karate Federation. The club is proud to be a member of the SKF and continues to uphold the traditional roots of martial arts while incorporating a modern approach to the style of Kimura Shukokai.

Throughout the years, the Shukokai Karate Federation has earned a reputation for producing students and instructors of the highest standards. The club not only focuses on sport but also regularly produces Junior and Senior National and International Champions in both Kumite (sparring) and Kata (forms) within the Shukokai style and All-Styles competitions.

As the only Shukokai organisation within the UK affiliated with Kimura Shukokai International (the World Governing Body for Kimura Shukokai), only members of the Shukokai Karate Federation have the opportunity to participate in Kimura Shukokai International European and World Championships, as well as other prestigious events.

Membership in the Shukokai Karate Federation comes with numerous benefits. Members have access to KSI World and European Championships, regular international and domestic seminars, national squad training, domestic championships, grading examinations, EKF National Team/WKF Sanctioned Competitions, referee and judge courses, and qualifications.

One of the key benefits of joining the club is the opportunity to learn the true art of Kimura Shukokai Karate from highly ranked senior instructors. All SKF instructors are fully CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students. Additionally, full members of the club receive insurance cover.
