Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club

Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club, established in 2012, is a friendly and ambitious hockey club located near Exeter in New Zealand. The club offers great facilities and welcomes new players, umpires, and volunteers. Whether you are an experienced player seeking competitive hockey or someone looking for recreational hockey, Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club has a team to suit your needs.

The club features four Men's teams and four Women's teams that compete in the West Hockey League. In addition to league play, the club offers opportunities for mixed hockey and recreational Rusty Hockey. The Junior Academy is a thriving part of the club, with boys' and girls' teams starting from Under-10 level and above. Young players are encouraged to join and train with the club, with the opportunity to progress to competitive hockey.

Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club utilises the excellent astro-turf pitch and lights at Ottery St Mary Leisure Centre, as well as the facilities at Sidmouth Leisure Centre. The club offers regular training sessions for the Men's and Women's teams on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings respectively. The Junior Academy and Rustys' sessions take place on Sundays from 10am to 12 noon, alternating between Ottery and Sidmouth.

The club participates in tournaments throughout the season and has entered teams for the upcoming league season. Fixtures for all teams can be found on the West Hockey League website. Players and umpires are required to register on the Game Management System (GMS) as per league regulations.

The club places a strong emphasis on player safety and has provided members and parents with guidance on face masks and player safety. New players are encouraged to join the club, and senior playing shirts can be purchased through Honiton Sports. The club is looking to recruit talented players and offers opportunities for advancement and growth.
