Welcome to Sixty & Better, a fitness centre located in the beautiful coastal town of Torquay, Victoria. Established in 1994, Sixty & Better is a membership-based not-for-profit charity that aims to promote healthy ageing and provide a range of activities for seniors to participate in.
At Sixty & Better, our mission is to create a non-discriminatory, safe, and supportive environment that encourages inclusiveness and reduces loneliness among seniors. We believe that every individual deserves to feel a sense of worth and belonging, and we strive to achieve this through our programmes and activities.
Our fitness centre offers a wide variety of activities designed to cater to the unique needs and interests of older adults. These activities include group exercises, strength training, aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. Our experienced and dedicated instructors are committed to promoting physical fitness and overall well-being among our members.
In addition to our fitness programmes, Sixty & Better also offers a range of social and educational activities. Our calendar is filled with events such as guest speakers, workshops, and outings to local attractions. These activities aim to provide opportunities for seniors to learn, engage with their community, form friendships, and live a fulfilling and enriching lifestyle.
As a membership-based organisation, Sixty & Better is run by older people, for older people. Our management team consists of nine members from the local Torquay community who are passionate about promoting healthy ageing and improving the lives of seniors. Our current president, Peter Bourgaize, is dedicated to ensuring that our organisation continues to provide high-quality programmes and services to our valued members.
