Skate Days – Café Circus & General Store, located in Moama, is a unique establishment that combines a café, general store, roller skating rink, and skate shop all in one. The mission of Skate Days is to provide an inviting space where people of all kinds and ages can make lifelong memories with their family, friends, and community while staying active in a fun, healthy, and safe environment.
Skate Days offers a variety of sessions to cater to different age groups and interests. Families and individuals of all ages can enjoy free skate, games, and family-friendly music. For those who prefer a more sensory-friendly experience, Skate Days offers a session with no flashing lights, low-level music, and welcomes carers on the skating floor without skates. Adults aged 18 and above can enjoy free skate, dance on skates, and cool music.
There is also a session called Skid Kids designed specifically for children aged 0–5 years, where they can enjoy skating, scooters, bounces, and ride-ons, and parents can even bring prams onto the floor.
Safety is a top priority at Skate Days, and for that reason, safety cruisers and first aid medics are always on duty during all sessions. Age-appropriate music is played for everyone's enjoyment, and to add some extra fun, Skate Days frequently hosts theme nights.
In addition to the skating rink, Skate Days also features a café called Café Circus. The café offers a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks for all skate sessions. They provide both healthy and indulgent options, with a classic menu available at every session and special menu items added for themed sessions. Outside the café, there is a walk-up window service where customers can grab a coffee, cold drink, or snack, making it convenient for families dropping off their loved ones for a session.
If the weather permits, outdoor seating is set up for all to enjoy.
When it comes to equipment, customers are encouraged to bring their own roller or inline skates. However, no skate shoes or other wheeled devices are allowed on the skate floor except for sensory and tots sessions. Helmets and safety gear must be brought by customers due to COVID-19 restrictions, as no safety gear is available for hire. However, Skate Days does offer skate and blade rentals, and they even have quad and inline skates available for purchase in their online store.
Skate Days also serves as an info booth and sign-up booth for various activities such as the Roller Derby League, Learn to Skate Lessons, Dance Skate, and Skate Fit for all ages. Those interested in getting involved can chat with the friendly staff for more information.
As a family-friendly establishment, Skate Days is a smoke and alcohol-free event. The staff at Skate Days reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone they believe may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
