Ski Slope

Ski Slope, spearheaded by Torfaen Leisure Trust, stands as an iconic hub for skiing enthusiasts in Pontypool, Wales. For over five decades, this facility has been the training ground for skiers, snowboarders, and Snowsport professionals. Nestled in Pontypool Park, Ski Slope boasts Wales' largest outdoor slope, stretching 250 metres long and 20 metres wide.

Torfaen Leisure Trust offers a variety of snowsport activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, all bookable online for convenience. Safety is paramount, requiring participants to don gloves, long sleeves, trousers, and long socks. Helmets are optional and available for borrowing upon request.

Catering to all skill levels, the main slope features a bumps run, ramps, and rails for thrill-seekers, alongside designated areas for beginners. A button lift ensures easy access across the slope once basic skills are mastered. The cosy wooden log cabin provides all necessary amenities, including equipment hire, a rest area with indoor spectator viewing, toilets, and changing rooms.

Inclusive and dynamic, Ski Slope offers sessions and lessons for both adults and children throughout the week. Special children’s sessions run every afternoon during school holidays. It also accommodates schools, youth groups, and birthday parties with tailored experiences.

Beyond recreational activities, Ski Slope hosts an active ski racing club, a family-oriented club, and an instructor training programme. Additionally, it provides training and team-building sessions for businesses, focusing on skiing, group learning, stress reduction, and mindfulness walks.

Ski Slope remains open year-round, offering a real snow experience regardless of weather. It’s a perfect destination to learn new skills, stay active, and socialise with fellow enthusiasts. Located at Cwmbran Stadium on Henllys Way, Cwmbran, the centre also offers a variety of other fitness activities and facilities, including gym access, swimming, and fitness classes.
