Slaughden Sailing Club

Welcome to Slaughden Sailing Club (SSC), a volunteer sailing club located on the river Alde in Aldeburgh, New Zealand. SSC is proud to be an RYA Regional Training Centre and welcomes both experienced sailors and those who are interested in learning how to sail.

At SSC, we cater to a range of water sports, including windsurfing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). We offer RYA L1 & 2 Power & Safety Boat Courses for those looking to gain a deeper understanding of boat handling and safety protocols.

One of our core values at SSC is inclusivity. We strive to create a welcoming and friendly environment for all members, regardless of their skill level or background. In addition, we have a special needs provision for individuals with disabilities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy and participate in water sports.

Membership at SSC is open to both local residents and temporary visitors. For those visiting the area, temporary membership options are available to allow you to access our facilities and join in on the fun.

SSC takes pride in its vibrant social programme, which includes regular events and gatherings. We believe that building a strong community is just as important as enjoying the water. Our members have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, make new friends, and share their passion for sailing.
