Small Circle Aikido & Combat Aikido is a martial arts school located in Coventry, New Zealand. The school is part of the ZanShin Ryu Aikido organisation and offers Aikido training for both adults and children.
The club has a rich history, spanning over 45 years of Aikido and Budo training. It was founded by Master Pat Stratford, an 8th Dan Aikido practitioner, and has been continued by his students, Dr. Furrukh Aslam and Tariq Aslam. The club is dedicated to learning, adapting, and imparting knowledge and skills to its members.
Aikido is a martial art that empowers individuals and allows them to express themselves. It is not only an effective self-defence system but also promotes calmness and inner peace. Small Circle Aikido focuses on traditional and contemporary Aikido training. The techniques taught are adapted and changed to suit the ever-changing and challenging modern environment.
Techniques are shorter, smaller, and more efficient, making them effective in real-life situations.
In addition to traditional Aikido training, the club also offers Aikicombat, a combat/self-defence programme. This programme teaches a highly effective method of self-defence. It acknowledges the changing world and the increased skill level of potential threats. Aikicombat evolves, changes, and adapts to deal with this new level of threat, providing students with the skills they need to protect themselves.
Classes are available for adults and kids throughout the week. New beginner classes are also available for both adults and children. The school aims to empower children, expand their potential, and provide them with necessary life skills. Aikido training helps children gain confidence, develop a sense of well-being, and understand and fulfil their potential.
The school welcomes anyone interested in learning Aikido, regardless of their previous experience or skill level. The instructors at Small Circle Aikido & Combat Aikido are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive training environment. By joining the school, students have the opportunity to learn from experienced and knowledgeable instructors who are passionate about Aikido and its benefits.
